Quinta Do Peru, Golf and Country Club

The villa is within the secure and private golf club resort of Quinta do Peru. The open-plan reception rooms are divided into three parts with four sets of French windows opening onto the garden and sliding doors separating the television room, which has three comfortable sofas. The cream and green kitchen is equipped with Miele appliances, a large oven and dual fuel hob, a free standing fridge and a separate freezer.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are all pristine and each bedroom has its own colour scheme with coordinating linen and towels. There are two large golfing cupboards in the entrance hall. The swimming pool has an ingenious electric sliding cover which, if used, makes the pool area particularly safe for children.

The enclosed garden has pool loungers and table tennis on the large lawn surrounded by mature landscaped borders.The garden is a mass of flowers and fragrances; rosemary, sweet bay, red hot poker, jasmine and lavender to name but a few and there are also several fruit trees including orange, lemon, clementine and apples. The shaded barbeque terrace has a long marble dining table and chairs from where you can watch the sun set over the stunning views towards the mountains of the Serra da Arrábida National Park.

This is the perfect choice for golfers and non-golfers alike and because of the layout of the house two families can be very comfortable. The clubhouse has a restaurant and two tennis courts. Quinta do Peru is eight minutes to the train station at Coina where there is a fast and modern train to the centre of Lisbon.

Quinta do Peru is situated to the south of Lisbon, located in a forest of pine and cork trees near to the national park of Serra da Arrábida. The beaches of Alfarim, Galapos and Portinho are within easy driving distance. Most of the beaches have very good beach bars or restaurants.The region has vineyards in where wine can be purchased directly – we enjoy Planalto (white) and Periquita (red). Quinta do Perú is a golf resort and enjoys a tranquil setting of great natural beauty. The par 72 golf course, designed by Rocky Roquemore is one of the best in Europe and blends into the surrounding countryside. Nearby Azeitão is a pretty and unspoilt village with a tradition of making a rich buttery cheese with sheep’s milk and is home to JM Fonseca wines.
